Stacking the Shelves
Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where you showcase all of the books you received for the week, whether it be physical or electronic books!

YAYYY 🙂 It’s November and the Christmas countdown has begun!! I am so excited for the upcoming months. It’s been quite chilly here lately so I’m really getting in the holiday mood. I was sick this week so I accomplished little to nothing in my life 😛 I just came home and watched TV practically every day, totally unproductive but I’m feeling better now and have a busy weekend of cleaning and home preparation. I’m hoping to get some of my Christmas decorations up next weekend so I have a lot to do to get everything ready, plus my mother will be coming to visit us in the next few weeks so I have to prepare our spare bedroom (which is essentially a storage locker when no one is visiting :P). I got a ton of fabulous books this week, I am SO excited…

Physical BooksAltered  Nomad by JL Bryan
Altered by Gennifer Albin
*Purchased at IndigoSpirit
Nomad by J.L. Bryan
*Won in a giveaway at Kelsey’s Cluttered Bookshelf, signed by J.L. Bryan!!

I finally picked up Altered 🙂 I am so excited to read this… I loved Crewel and can’t wait to see how the series continues. AND… just yesterday I received my copy of Nomad signed from J.L. Bryan himself. Ecstatic, seriously.

Significance by Shelly Crane

I borrowed Decked with Holly from the library for the Ho-Ho-Ho Holiday Read-A-Thon, it sounds so cute and fun so I will be reading it this weekend! I can’t wait to read a Christmas book to put me even MORE in a festive mood! I also picked up Also Known As when it was on a Kindle deal. I have had this on hold at the library since forever but the copies haven’t even come in yet and I expect them to NEVER come in so… I bought it 😛  I seen some good reviews for Significance as well so I picked that up while it was free on Kindle!!

Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman

This is going to be one giant ramble because I’m SO excited about these review books 🙂 I finally got Crash Into You, I didn’t think I would get approved but I did and I can barely contain my excitement! I also got Pawn which I’ve been antsy to read and Hushed which I got interested it in back in October so I was excited to see that it was on Netgalley. Samantha Summers sent me a copy of Becoming, the final book in the Project Five Fifteen series and I’m really excited (and sad) to see how it all ends! The last two books I had never heard of before I found them on Edelweiss but I’m really excited for both of them. I love world war 2 books despite my reservations about historical fiction and this sounds like a really interesting take on a WWII story… and The Taking… well its aliens so that is TOTALLY going out on a limb for me but we will see 🙂

What did you get this week? Link up!!

    • YAY! I’ve heard nothing but good things so far about Crash & Pawn so I can’t wait to crack those two open!! I haven’t read a Kimberely Derting book but I’ve heard a lot of great things about them so I’m interested to read this one! Thanks for stopping in Bieke 🙂

    • Oh PTL & Dare to You were both amazing 🙂 I really hope you love them! I’m not worried that I won’t like Pawn, I haven’t heard a single bad thing about it.. I’m so glad you enjoyed it too!! Thanks for stopping by 😀

    • I’m reading Decked with Holly right now and it definitely is cute and light 🙂 It’s perfect for a Sunday relaxing read!! Oh, I’m so glad to hear that Also Known As has great supporting characters… I’m actually not normally one for the main characters, it’s always the secondary that get me 😀 Do you feel like we might be the last two who have read Crash Into You? Gosh, I was beginning to feel like that lol. Thanks for stopping by Alexa 😀

  1. I got Pawn, Prisoner of Night and Fog, and The Taking for review too! I’m really excited about them! I’ve heard awesome things about Pawn so can’t wait to start reading. Prisoner of Night and Fog just sounds so good. I love historical fiction during the WWII era. Very excited about it. And I read Kimberly Derting’s The Pledge series and loved it so am excited to read something else from her. 🙂

    • I agree about WWII era Rebecca!! (OMG, I just realized for some reason that my fingers like automatically try and type RACHEL when I write your name… I hope I haven’t done that before, how embarassing lol). Code Name Verity & Sarah’s key were two of my favorites, have you read those ones???

I’m glad that you love Kimberly Derting, I actually haven’t read her other series so I’m excited to give this one a shot 🙂

      • Lol, you actually did type Rachel one time on my blog, but it’s okay. It’s funny because when I was born my parents were trying to decide between the names Rachel and Rebecca. So you’re close enough. 🙂

I have not read Code Name Verity yet but I really want to!! I’ve heard great things. And I haven’t heard of Sarah’s Key, I will have to check it out.

You should definitely check out The Pledge series by Kimberly Derting. It’s a mix of fantasy and dystopian. I really enjoyed and I think the third one is up on Edelweiss right now. 🙂

        • OMG, that’s SO AWFUL THOUGH, I’m sorry! I can’t believe that I actually did that 🙁 See, lesson #1 in why I need to proofread haha. I sent Cassie a voiceclip one day and CALLED her Cat in it… I swear sometimes I’ve completely lost it lol.

I think you will love CNV, but seriously bring a box or 2 of tissues with you before you read it… it’s SO emotional. And Sarah’s Key is amazing, it’s an adult book but an amazing read!

I just added the Pledge to my library Overdrive tbr (which I will get to sometime in the next 4 years haha). Ooooh I love mix up genres, it throws a nice twist in so you dont get bored!!

    • Thanks Jessica 🙂 Edelweiss might very well be the death of me eventually 😛 There are always fantastic books on there and they come in DROVES lol.
