Top Ten Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read From the Paranormal Genre

This topic was HARD and I have no idea why! As I stare at my list that I’ve gathered up I’m thinking, “Of Course!” so I have no idea why I struggled to figure out which books to put on here haha. I chose the Paranormal genre, of course. It has always been my favorite genre to read… if there are witches, vampires, fae and werewolves count me in! That being said, I have definitely ventured out of that genre the last couple of years, reading more of other genres and there are a few series/books that I am surprised I still haven’t gotten to! This list has definitely given me some reminders so I’m hoping to add a few of these to the 2015 TBR 🙂

Bloodlines  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer  Half-Blood  Alice in Zombieland  Unearthly

1. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead • Ok, technically I have started this because I just picked up the audiobook, but it’s astonishing to me that I have waited as long as I have! I LOVED Vampire Academy, I basically devoured the entire series in a few weeks (with the exception of the first book… I took a long wait between book 1 and book 2) so I cannot believe that I have waited this long to jump back into that world!
2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin • I am not entirely sure that this is paranormal, BUT I have heard sporadic things that make me think it is so it’s going on the list. It just intrigues me… especially with everyone itching to get the finally released third book, I can’t believe I haven’t started it sooner!
3. Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout • Yah, I feel like hiding when I add this. It’s been featured in way too many need to read lists and it’s still sitting unread. Fail.
4. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter • I’ve actually been dying to read this one and was waiting for the third book. Now that it’s out I have zero excuses so I’m so surprised I haven’t started it! It sounds right up my alley and I have heard such amazing things about it and the main boy <3
5. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand  You know, I actually ran to the store specifically to get this like 2 years ago. And I didn’t read it 😛 I LOVE Angels. They are probably my second favorite paranormal being to read about so when I was going through books to add to my list this immediately stood out to me as a can’t-believe-I-haven’t-read-this-yet book!

My Soul To Take  blue bloods  Witches of East End  Paranormalcy  Born Wicked

6. My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent • I don’t know too much about this series, but I’m surprised that I haven’t read the first book yet because it’s one of the first books that caught my eye when I started getting into YA!
7. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz • Yah, I love vampires. I don’t care what people say about them oversaturating and blah blah blah, I love them. And it’s surprising that I haven’t read this yet!
8. Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz • Witches are definitely my favorite of all the things. I actually intended on reading these when the show finished but well yanno how that went SOOOO… hopefully I will start soon seeing as how I own the first two 😛
9. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White • I OWN THIS WHOLE SERIES! Sheesh, why haven’t I picked it up yet?! And, to be honest, it was one of the first YA series that I owned!
10. Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood • I’m so sad about this cover change… look at that beauty. Luckily I own the original cover, but witches and historical fiction?! Hello… this surprises me that I haven’t started it yet!

And those are my picks! Have you read and loved (or hated!) any of these? What genre did you pick? Link up!!

  1. I still need to read Bloodlines, and I own all five books in the series so far too! So bad haha. I’ve heard about Rachel Vincent’s books, and I’d like to read them someday as well. I’m really excited for her new book this July as well!
