*See my starting line post here!*
So… the first week of February has come and gone, ALREADY and I am actually quite happy with my progress. I managed to finish two review copies and am about 40% through another.
First up this week was Uninvited. I was about a third of the way through when the challenge started and to be honest, wasn’t entirely thrilled by it. BUT I plugged through and ended up liking it well enough. Unfortunatly, I think this was a case of high expectations and it fell short of what I was hoping. I did still enjoy it and will be reading the second book but I had a few issues with it. I posted my review last Monday so you can see that here if you are interested.
Immediately after finishing Uninvited I started Witchstruck. I just recently got approved on Edelweiss for this one, but since it was released a few months ago and the second books release is coming up shortly, I pushed it up on the reading list. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I started this one but seeing how I’ve been loving historical fiction, particularly with paranormal elements I was hoping I would love it. AND IT DID! Although I had to Google a lot when I started because I really knew next to nothing about the Tudor era, I thought it was a great read and am eagerly awaiting the second. My review will be up this week for it.
I also started Forever which is the final book in the Temptation trilogy. I’m hosting a tour spot this coming Friday (VALENTINES DAY!!) and I will be posting my review then. I’m only about 40% of the way through, but I will be finishing it today. I’m not saying anything about this one so far except read this series if you love contemporary romance! It’s very, very different from a lot of the contemporary YA out there in that it features an Amish community and a young ‘English’ girl who falls in love with an Amish boy. It’s a wonderful story of forbidden romance and I’ve been head of heels for this couple since I read the first two last Summer!
So there are my accomplishments for the week. I have to say, I’m really pleased with my progress. If I can manage to keep this pace up then I will finish RCC a happy person! Now if only the Black Dagger Brotherhood can stop distracting me…
Witchstruck sounds good! I have heard not so good reviews on Uninvited and I so badly want to love it, so that is kinda sad!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
There are some awesome reviews out there too though Missie!! I just had way to high expectations I think 🙁 But I did still enjoy it enough to continue!!
Great job with reading your ARCs! It can be hard to keep up with them when there are so many other books coming out too.
GOSH! So hard Pamela! Except now for me strangely enough it’s older books on the TBR *coughs* Black Dagger Brotherhood. Oh well, as long as I get through the new ones I will be a happy camper!
I only finished 2 books from my tbr pile for the Review Copy Cleanup haha. I hope Uninvited doesn’t disappoint me! The cover looks really cool. I know nothing about it though haha. I got approved for Witchstruck too but a long time ago…unfortunately the galley expired before I could read it. I’m glad you liked it! I’ll def. buy it and read it sometime.
2 books is still a great way to start the month Leigh 🙂 I really hope you like Uninvited! You might love it, especially since you don’t know anything about it! I definitely recommend witchstruck… i hate when Galley’s expire, that’s one reason I am SO happy to have my Kindle now!
Aw, well I’m glad you liked Uninvited in spite of the few things that you didn’t like 🙂 Good luck Lauren! Keep going 😀
Thanks Charlotte 🙂 *fingers crossed*
