February 2018 Book Haul

Hi 🙂 Happy March! I’m so, so sad February is over and Spring is just on the horizon. I am the exact opposite of most people; while they cannot wait for Winter to be over, I’m dreading it to be. I wish I lived in a place of perpetual Winter and cold, I would thrive in that environment. Anyway, that’s not happening so I just have to suck it up because Spring is coming regardless. I hope I get a few more cold snaps and snow before it moves in though 🙁

How was everyone’s February? Mine was pretty fantastic. I sequestered myself in my house for basically the entire month except when I had to leave for work and watched ALL THE OLYMPICS. I LOVE the Winter Olympics and I watched more this year than I ever have I think. Plus it was Family Day so I had a long weekend, The NBA All-Stars Weekend and the Superbowl. A lot of watching all the sports in this house, haha.

I didn’t buy one single book in February! Although as you can below, that didn’t really stop me from still having incoming books 😛

I won a Goodreads giveaway! I was super excited to get this email and I received it only a few days after winning! Catherine McKenzie is a Canadian author and I’m very excited to read this one as it was on my TBR. I’ll be reading it either this month or the beginning of next month so stay tuned for a review!

I’ve already read In a Dark, Dark Wood, The One, The Guard, A Stranger in the House and If You Knew Her. Clearly my thriller binge is back on in full swing! I really enjoyed The One, The Guard & In a Dark, Dark Wood and A Stranger in the House and If You Knew Her were also both good but didn’t blow me away. I’ll be posting reviews sometime this month on all five of them.

The French Girl and In a Cottage In a Wood were both thrillers that caught my eye sometime towards the end of 2017 so I added them to my library holds as soon as they popped up on Overdrive. I’m hoping to get to both of those this weekend. Happily Ever After is the bind up of all The Selection novella’s with some bonus content so I’m interested to see what that is. I really just wanted to read The Favorite as it’s the only novella I haven’t read yet but I will definitely see what the other content is like and if it interests me.

audiobooks
Surprise Me
Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella
*Borrowed from the library

I’m a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella’s books. Even though some of them are corny and unrealistic, they are so fun to read and I enjoy them a lot. I read her last release on audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed it so I wanted to give Surprise Me a try on audio as well. I LOVED IT! I really, really enjoy listening to her books on audio and it makes me want to reread her backlist on it as well. The narrator, Fiona Hardingham, is definitely one of my favorites!

What books did you get in February? Have you read any of these? Share your thoughts!

Lauren
