Stacking the Shelves
Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where you showcase all of the books you received for the week, whether it be physical or electronic books!

Hi Everyone!! How has everyone been? I have been quite absent, as I mentioned, because my Mom is visiting this week. We haven’t done much so far but I have a few days off this week before she leaves and we plan on shopping a lot and hopefully going to the aquarium! We’ve watched a TON of movies the past few days, I love chick flicks and Nick doesn’t care for those so I normally end up watching them alone but my Mom also loves them so there has been a lot of Abc Family Christmas movies playing around here 😛

Chapters had a buy 3 get one free sale for Black Friday so of course I had to take them up on that offer 😛 I wasn’t able to get to one of the bigger stores, or I would have gotten a ton more, because I had yoga, but I did get four great books! Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? And did anyone brave the Black Friday sales??

I miss blogging so much, so I’m happy its December… I have two vacations this month and it’s just my favorite month of the year!! Now, onto the books…

I adore Tori Spelling (if you missed my Fan Expo post from the summer, I raved about my love for Beverly Hills 90210.. HUGE fan of that show and Donna was my favorite of the girls) and I have read all of her other books. Since I’ve gotten into YA, I’ve really missed watching for non fiction releases and I totally had NO idea that she released another book! Definitely had to snag that up. I read Fall On Your Knees before, and loved it so I wanted to get a copy for my collection. Beautiful Redemption & The Evolution of Mara Dyer I picked up simply because I know I will need the continuations in the series eventually 😛

I picked up North Pole Reform School to read in December, it sounds SO cute! The Perfect Game was a Kindle deal, and Betty had raved about this one so I decided it was the perfect chance to pick it up!

I have the previous two books in this series and haven’t started them yet *shakes head*… at least I can read them all together!

I’m doing a lot of reorganizing and cleaning the past few weeks so I wanted to maximize on that time and get some audiobook reading done. I’ve talked about my struggles with audio books before so I googled what the best and most engaging YA books are and this was recommended everywhere! Needless to say, I am really enjoying it and it is very hard to follow… I haven’t caught myself daydreaming yet!!!

What did everyone get this week?!? Link up your hauls below 🙂

  1. North Pole Reform School and Perfect Game looks like an awesome read for the month of December. I’ll check it out. I seriously need to get my hands on The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I heard nonstop rave about that book, and I’m curious to read it b/c it involves something about psychological stuff? Anyways, hope you end up liking all of your books!

    • Leigh, I think Mara Dyer is about psychological stuff as well… I haven’t read the first book yet, I’m actually holding off until the third is released lol!

    • I love her! I read the first few chapters just cause.. and I think this one might be her best yet! She is really honest and open in it, and I enjoy that! I hope you get your hands on it soon Chrystal!!

    • I have read The Help! I adored that book, so I actually might pick up the audio just to do a reread! I’m going to check out the Sara Zarr book as well. I totally agree… the narrator makes it or breaks it for me also. I have Daughter of Smoke and Bone on audio and have attempted it no less than 5 times. I eventually gave up and just bought the book, because I really enjoyed the story for what I heard!

    • Lol, I hate when that happens and you know you love it but not much else 😛 I’m holding off until the entire series is released I think. I’ve heard crazy things about book 2 so I feel it’s one of those series that you will just freak out over until the final book!

  2. I want to read the Mara Dyer series so bad!! It’s on my Christmas wishlist. I’m on a book buying ban until Christmas. It’s killing me. Especially since I just got a $50 Amazon gift card. How can I not spend it?? I hope you enjoy the last book in the Beautiful Creatures series. I really loved how it all ended. 🙂

    • Oh my gosh…. I don’t know how your doing it Rebecca! I’m on a ban now though as well, after this weekend. It’s sad but it has to be done… I have way too many books to read anyway so it’s not like I will be short on reading material! I’m not sure if it’s the same in the states but in Canada we have Boxing Day sales (the day after Christmas) so maybe you will find more for your money on Amazon then anyways!!

I still need to read Beautiful Chaos but my boyfriend (of all people) wants me to finish this series over Christmas break, haha.

  3. I’d Tell You I Love You… was SO much fun. I’ve read the first two books in the series, and really need to read the rest.

I sent you a whole slew of DMs via Twitter, but take your time getting to them! I know you’re visiting with your mom right now. 🙂

    Enjoy all your books, Lauren!

    • I’m loving it so far Merin! And I’m actually really loving the audiobook for it, the narrator is great so I might continue the entire series by audiobook!!

    • I’ve heard awesome things about it but I think I will be holding off until the third book. Everyone says it ends in a MASSIVE cliffhanger so I need to wait, haha.

    • I’m glad I’m not alone on that Ellie 🙂 It’s ok though, at least I can weep without embarassment, haha. Thanks so much for stopping by!!
