Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where you showcase all of the books you received for the week, whether it be physical or electronic books!

Weeeekeeennddddd 🙂 I’m so excited for this weekend. It’s Bloggiesta time 🙂 I can’t wait to get quite a bit done on my blog and also put in some heavy duty reading time. I didn’t pick up a lot of books this week and I am soooo proud of myself for it! I’ve really been trying to stay away… and February is going to be hard because there are so many new releases I want RIGHT NOW! Lol, we will see how it goes with me “staying away”.

I couldn’t resist picking up Gillian Flynn’s two other books. After I read Gone Girl and enjoyed it so many people have said to read her other ones. I can’t wait to read these in the near future! Short & sweet this week… I got a lot of blog related things to attend to 😉
What did everyone get this week?? Please link up with your stacking the shelves/weekly haul posts 🙂

Happy Reading!

  1. Jen

Dark Places sounds great! I have Gone Girl on audiobook and I’ve been meaning to start that. I hear it’s craaaazy 🙂 Enjoy your books!

    • Gone Girl was crazy! My bff has read all of them though and she said the other two are SO much better, so I am interested to see how much more crazy her books can get, lol.

  2. I’ve heard lots about Gillian Flynn so I really need to pick up Gone Girl.

I like the simplicity of her covers, they’re really effective.

Hope you enjoy your weekend and get some series reading done! 🙂

    • I really like the simplicity as well… it leaves so much open to interpretation which is good because her books take you for a ride. Well atleast Gone Girl did and I heard the other two are crazy also!

Thanks so much for stopping by Livvy!

  3. I still need to read Gone Girl. But I did NOT stay away from new books this week, so it will be a while before I can possibly get to it. Any idea when you may want to start Cinder? I figure if we do a couple of chapters each day, I can easily fit it into the other books I’ve scheduled to read, so just let me know! 🙂

    Enjoy your books, Lauren!

    My StS Post

    • Thanks so much Merin 🙂

I can start Cinder anytime as well. I think that’s a great idea, if we read 2 or 3 chapters a day I can easily pop that in between review books(I’m doing the Review Cleanup challenge for February, lol). Just let me know… 🙂

I had Gone Girl for ages also and then I got sick of hearing all the wonderful things and forced it into my schedule haha. And it was so worth it… but it kind of backfired because I BOUGHT her other two books haha, which defeats the purpose of reading from my TBR, haha.

        • Sure, next week is grand! I can start on Sunday or Monday.. honestly I’m not fussy… I read so many books at once so I can easily fit in another one. And I seen Scarlet in the bookstores today and I’m so excited to read Cinder now 😀

          • Let’s do Monday, then. I have a couple of things I need to get read over the weekend, so Monday would work best for me. And let’s aim for three chapters a night. Sound good?

I’m so excited for my first ever read-along! 🙂

    • It was excellent and I am sort of removed from adult books now. I don’t find them as enjoyable and a bit slow at times but Gone Girl was so hard to put down. I’ve had high recommendations for her first two so I’m excited to see how they are.

Thanks for stopping in Jenna 🙂

    • It was quite cheap on Kindle so I had to grab it. I am such a sucker for angel books. That’s my latest and greatest obsession, haha. Thanks for stopping in Quinn 🙂

    • I totally agree Giselle! There are way too many cover changes happening lately… I don’t so much mind when its ebooks but I HATE when they are my physical books. :S

Bloggiesta is a weekend long event to work on your blogs, there challenges, twitter chats, etc… Here’s the link: http://www.bloggiesta.com/.
